Types of Trimmings

1. Buttons

Buttons are used for fastening garments such as shirts, coats, and trousers. They are available in materials like plastic, metal, wood, and shell.

2. Zippers

Zippers are used for opening and closing garments. Common types include metal, plastic, and invisible zippers.

3. Lace

Lace is a decorative trimming used to enhance the beauty of garments like sarees, dresses, and blouses.

4. Ribbon

Ribbons are used for decoration and tying purposes. They are commonly used in children’s garments and fashion wear.

5. Piping

Piping is used to decorate edges of garments such as necklines, sleeves, and seams. It gives a neat and attractive finish.

6. Sequins

Sequins are small shiny discs used to decorate garments, especially in party and designer wear.

7. Beads

Beads are used in embroidery to add decorative and stylish effects to garments.

8. Frills and Ruffles

Frills and ruffles are used to add volume and decorative effect in dresses, skirts, and children’s wear.

9. Applique

Applique is a decorative technique where pieces of fabric are stitched onto garments to create designs and patterns.

10. Braid

Braid is a narrow decorative trimming used on edges and seams to enhance garment appearance.
